This premier league season has been very enjoyable and very unpredictable mainly because of how close the race for the top 4 is. At the start of the season, many people predict that one of the two Manchester clubs was going to win the title.

To everyone surprise, Chelsea, the West London giant has found themselves on top of the table for much of the season and it seems as they have already won the league. They are certainly playing like the best team in the country if not in the world. 

It far to say that Antonio Conte has transformed this team to one of the best. if you compare where they were at this time of the year last season you would not believe they are sitting on top. 

There have been some outstanding individual performances as well. Players like Deli Alli who was supposed to be one season wonder have proved their doubters wrong. We have seen the like of Rehem Sterling playing like the Sterling of Liverpool.

There are so many players who have had a very good season so far, the like of Gylfi Sigurdsson, Ander Herrera, Nemanja Matic, David Silva, Ettienne Capoue all have enjoyed a wonderful campaign. 

We've used a combination of all the stats that shows a midfielder is doing their job; goals, assists, chances creation, blocks, interceptions,  and other similar criteria.

As that being said let us go straight to the rating of midfielders who have performed the best. 

# 5 Kevin De Bruyne

With Manchester City sitting 3rd in the table at the moment De Bruyne has played a key role in helping Pep Guardiola's side to push for a top 4 finish. His goals and assists have been very important for Manchester city this season. not only his goals and assists. He has created more chances than any other Manchester City players. If he can continue his form, his team might finish in the top four.

Dele Alli came out of nowhere last season to being named the Premier League best young player of the season. This season he hasn't disappointed. He has improved his game as the season has gone by. His partnership with Harry Kane is deadly and hopefully, he can keep doing what he is doing so they can maybe challenge Chelsea for the title because Tottenham is the only club that is close to Chelsea.

The most expensive player hasn't played at the highest level everyone knows he can, but that has not stopped him from showing what he can do as a player Statically he has been by far the best Midfielder in the league. One thing he has really struggle to do is play his best football against the top sides. Manchester United fans have been crying for him to show up in big games, but its just matter of time before we start seeing the real Pogba.

Two seasons ago Hazard won the POTY (player of the year) award, he was the deserved winner that season, the only player of could've had a say on the award was Manchester United goalie David De Gea AKA #davidsaves. 

Last season though was a completely the opposite of what we expected from Hazard, he performed poorly game after game, he was not the only one who perform badly, in fact, the whole Chelsea squad was just that bad and it results in them going from title winning team to relegation battle, to mid table team.

This season he has been a new man. Scoring goals for fun, embarrassing defenders., diving and all that you'd expect from a player of his quality. he is definitely one of the reasons why Chelsea are on top of the Premier league.

What can we say about this man? He's one of the best Midfielders in the world if not the best already. last season he was the reason why Leicester City won the PL trophy and he' is probably the reason why Chelsea is running away with the title. His work rate is second to none, one thing is very good at is his ball-winning ability he is the best at that. he can transform a team nobody else can. He is my player of the year.
