TOP 10 MOST EXPENSIVE SIGNINGS IN FOOTBALL HISTORY (SOCCER) 2016

Top #10 Most expensive signings in Football history ( Soccer) UPDATED 2016.
As we take a look at the most expensive player in Football history, you will notice that Real Madrid dominated the list with four entries in the top 10 list of transfers. Also, you will notice that all the transfers happened before 2009

#1 Paul Pogba from Juventus to  Manchester United (2016
) Fee: $114m which makes Pogba the most expensive footballer of all time.

The most expensive footballer of all time left the Premier League powerhouse Manchester United as a free agent four years ago. Pogba signed with Juventus for free and he went on to establish himself as one of the best midfielders in the game. During his four years in Italy, he was named in 2015 FIFA World XI.

Paul Pogba has the highest potential of any footballer according to Manchester Evening News ( http://goo.gl/LbJJpq) Many Manchester United fans are very excited about this signing. We all hope Pogba can continue to develop and become the best he can. Good luck #Pogback

#2 Gareth Bale from Tottenham to Real Madrid (2013) Fee: $110.19m

Gareth Bale had a wonderful debut season with Real Madrid where he won The Champions League and scoring a solo goal to help the Madrid giant to win the Copa Del Rey.

In his second season with Real Madrid, he had ups and downs, injuries hit him hard and he was unable to perform at the highest level but, he still gave Real Madrid fans something to cheer about, scoring 14 times and assists six times in 31(1) games.

However, on the international stage, he carried a Wales team that was not even considered to make the euro but, he plays at the level everyone knows he can and help Wales reached the Euro semi-final. Unfortunately for him and his teammates, they were knockout by his Real Madrid's teammate Cristiano Ronaldo's  Portugal.

#3 Cristiano Ronaldo from Manchester United to Real Madrid (2009) Fee: $108.13m

A hit!!! there is debate whether he is the best player in the world or not, his rivalry with Leonel Messi is one of the biggest rivalries ever seen in football history. CR7 is one of the best players to ever play football if not the best ever.

He has won every title at club level. In 2016 he won the Euro with Portugal, he also has three Ballon d'Or to his name and there are rumors that he is going to win this year (2016)  Ballon d'Or following his performances in La Liga, Champions League and Euro 2016. Good luck to him!

#4 Gonzalo Higuain from Napoli to Juventus (2016) Fee: $97.28m

This transfer did not make sense to a lot of people because of the fee and the age of the player. Higuain is one of the best strikers in the world but, age is against him. He is 28 years old, turning 29 on December the 10th which means he is going to decline soon rather than later. He had a great career with Napoli and he is a legend there.

However, his transfer to Juventus raises a lot of question. No one knows if he can help them with the UEFA Champions League. Only time will tell if this was a good signing by the old lady (Juventus).

#5 Luis Suarez from Liverpool to Barcelona (2014) Fee: $96.89m

This Liverpool legend is also known for his dirty playing style as well as his pure talent that made him one of the best striker in the world.

His first season with the BBVA reigning champion wasn't the best but, he managed to score 16 goals in 25 matches. His second season was the best of his career. He scored 40 goals in 35 league matches. We all can't wait to see what he has in store for us for the upcoming season.

#6 Neymar da Silva from Santos to Barcelona (2013) Fee: $92.37m

This one is definitely a hit,  he scores, assists, and create chances. he does everything that every football fan would want to see from their player. Even though he is not a good defender, he is still one of the best footballers in the world right now.

Neymar was named the third best player in 2015 behind his Barcelona teammate Messi and his idol Cristiano Ronaldo. Many people believe he is a future Ballon do'Or winner, but who knows? only time will tell.

#7 James Rodriguez from AS Monaco to Real Madrid (2014) Fee: $82.03m

This one is hard to say because in his first season he had a brilliant year,  scoring 13 goals and provided 13 assists in 29 appearances. His second season, however, was one to forget, he was hit by injuries, left on the bench very often and his confidence seems to decrease every time he put his foot on a football pitch.

His third season is one that he must perform or else the impatience Real Madrid fans will want him out of the club.

#8 Zlatan Ibrahimovic from Inter Milan to Barcelona (2009) Fee: $76.22m (51.67m plus Eto'o)

One of the biggest disappointing transfer in football history. Zlatan spent one year at Barcelona.  He Zlatan fallout with the (former) Barcelona manager Pep Guardiola.

He went on to have a great career, spending four years with PSG scoring 113 goals in 122 games. and he is regarded as one of the best footballers of his generation.

Zlatan signed with Manchester United 2016 on a free transfer after seeing his contract out at PSG. We hope the man who calls himself the god of Manchester will have a great season with Manchester United. Good luck Ibra!

#9 Angel Di Maria from Real Madrid to Manchester United ( 2014) Fee: $77.12m.

His Manchester United career started very well but, it soon turned into a disappointment. Despite registering 10 assists and 3 goals in 1622 minutes, his performances were not as good. And guess what? he was shipped out Manchester United the following season.

He did have a good season with Ligue 1 giant PSG. But in Manchester,   he was definitely a flop.

#10 Ricardo Kaka from Ac Millan to Real Madrid (2009) Fee: 73.25m.

This move did not work as well as many people were expecting. Kaka spent four years with Real Madrid but we all know he failed.

Injuries were probably one of the biggest reason why he failed at Madrid but, his lack of form was another reason why he couldn't perform at the highest level. The Ballon d'Or winner is a football legend but, at Madrid, he was a misfire.
